Best Everyday Jewellery That Actually Lasts
Share
There's a specific kind of jewellery that makes your life easier. You put it on Monday morning and you don't think about it again until someone compliments it on Friday. No taking it off for showers. No worrying about the gym. No green marks on your skin when you wake up.
That's what we set out to make when we started The Littl. Jewellery beautiful enough that you want to wear it every day, and tough enough that you actually can. Here are the pieces our customers (and honestly, we) never take off.
What makes jewellery "everyday" worthy
Not every piece is built for 24/7 wear. The ones that work share a few things.
First, they're waterproof. If you have to take it off for the shower, you're dealing with sometimes-jewellery, not everyday-jewellery.
Second, hypoallergenic. If your skin reacts after 8 hours of continuous wear, it's not going to work for day after day.
Third, tarnish-resistant. Nobody wants to polish their earrings every week.
Fourth, comfortable enough to sleep in. Sharp edges, heavy pendants, or pokey clasps disqualify a piece pretty quickly.
And fifth, it has to go with everything. The best everyday pieces are versatile enough to work with gym clothes and a nice dinner outfit.
14k gold-filled ticks every box, which is why we built our entire brand around it.
Our most-worn everyday pieces
Everyday earrings
Freshwater Pearl Thick Hoop Earrings, $159.99
Our all-time bestseller. Customers put these in and genuinely forget they're wearing them. The hinge closure sits flush, the weight is comfortable for all-day wear, and the freshwater pearl adds just enough interest to make them special without being over the top. We've had people tell us they wear these for months straight without taking them off.

Classic Stud Earrings, $47.99
If hoops aren't your thing, these are the go-to. Small, minimal, sits close to the ear, and the 14k gold-filled post means no irritation even if you never take them out. Perfect for second and third piercings too.
Everyday necklaces
Thin Snake Necklace, $123.99
Sits flat against the collarbone, catches the light subtly, and the snake chain has a really satisfying weight to it without being heavy. This is the necklace people describe as "I never take it off."
Large Freshwater Pearl Necklace, $179.00
If you want something with a bit more presence, this is the one. The pearl drop adds a focal point and it layers beautifully with a shorter chain if you want to build a stack over time.
"It's an elegant necklace that can be dressed up! I personally use it for everyday wear and never take it off!" Irene, on Teardrop Freshwater Pearl Necklace
Everyday rings
Rings are the trickiest for everyday wear because they take the most abuse (hand washing, cooking, gripping things). Gold-filled rings hold up well, but we'd say be slightly more mindful of removing them for heavy cleaning or gardening. For everything else, leave them on.
The cost of "everyday" jewellery
Cheap jewellery is expensive in the long run. If you're replacing a $30 pair of earrings every two months because they tarnish or irritate your skin, you're spending $180 a year with nothing to show for it.
A pair of gold-filled everyday earrings costs $50 to $160 upfront but lasts years. The maths speaks for itself.
Frequently asked questions
Can I sleep in gold-filled jewellery?
Yes. Most of our customers do. Stud earrings and hoops with hinge closures are the most comfortable for sleeping. Necklaces are fine too, just be aware of chains tangling if you move a lot.
Will everyday wear damage gold-filled jewellery faster?
No. Gold-filled is designed for daily wear. The thick gold layer can handle years of continuous contact with skin, water, and sweat without degrading.
What's the best first piece for everyday wear?
A pair of gold-filled hoop earrings. They're versatile, comfortable, and the single most impactful piece you can put on. Everything else builds from there.
