A thick layer of real 14k yellow gold over a core of quality jeweller's brass. This piece is 14k yellow gold thick-plated (highest quality) on brass — the heaviest plating we use. It gives you the look and weight of gold at a gentler price, and it asks for a little more care than our gold filled pieces.

Both start with real 14k gold. On our gold filled pieces the gold layer is thicker again and bonded under heat and pressure, which is why those can be worn in the shower and the sea. This piece is thick-plated instead, so the gold sits on the surface. Lovely to wear — just keep it dry.

A little, yes. Because the gold sits on the surface rather than being bonded through, take it off before swimming, and keep it away from perfume, lotion and harsh cleaners. Store it somewhere dry when it's resting.

We wouldn't recommend this one. The base metal is brass, which can react with some people's skin. If yours is sensitive, our 14k gold filled and sterling silver pieces are the ones to reach for.

No — please remove this piece before swimming, and keep it out of the shower. Water and chlorine wear at plating over time. If you'd like something you never have to take off, our 14k gold filled pieces are made for exactly that.

We pack and send most in-stock orders within 1 to 2 business days. Pre-order and made-to-order pieces ship on the timing shown on their product page. Once it's on its way, here's how long delivery takes:

• Australia: Australia Post estimates 2 to 6 business days for standard and 1 to 3 for Express, depending on where you are.
• Overseas: choose Australia Post International Standard or DHL Express at checkout. Between major cities, Australia Post estimates 4 to 7 business days to New Zealand and the UK, and 5 to 9 to the USA and Canada. Some countries take longer, so check Australia Post's estimates by country.

You'll get a tracking number the moment your order ships.

We want you to adore every piece. Should you wish to exchange, you may do so for store credit within 30 days of delivery, provided your piece is unworn and in its original packaging. For reasons of hygiene, earrings, belly rings, hair clips and bespoke or engraved pieces are unable to be exchanged, and return postage for a change of heart is kindly taken care of by you. In the rare moment a piece arrives faulty, incorrect or incomplete, do simply get in touch within 7 days and we will make it right, with our apologies, by way of a replacement or refund.

Yes. Every piece comes with a 3-month warranty covering manufacturing faults and material defects. If something goes wrong that isn't normal wear and tear, get in touch and we'll make it right with a replacement or store credit. The warranty doesn't cover everyday wear and tear, snapped chains, or pieces that haven't been cared for.

Take it off before swimming, showering or exercising, and give it a gentle wipe with a soft dry cloth after wearing. Keep it away from perfume, lotion and harsh cleaners, and store it somewhere dry. A little care goes a long way with plating.

We do love a beautiful gift. Once you've added a piece to your cart, you can add our gift box packaging, so it arrives beautifully wrapped and ready to give. And our e-gift cards make the simplest, most thoughtful present of all.

Pre-order and made-to-order pieces can't be cancelled once your order is placed, and made-to-order pieces can't be changed either, as they go into production the moment you order. For anything else, like a change of address or an in-stock piece, please get in touch as soon as you can and we'll do everything we can to catch it before it ships.

For USA orders sent with Australia Post, US import duties are prepaid by us, so there's nothing to pay on delivery. For DHL Express orders and all other countries, local duties and taxes aren't included at checkout and may be collected on delivery, depending on your country's rules.

How frustrating, and we're so sorry. First, do check with your household and local post, as parcels occasionally arrive a little before the tracking catches up. If it's still missing, get in touch and we'll help you trace it.
